V - 1 (Diak No 1) and V - 3 (Diak No 3)
Introduction:
V-1 and V-3 is diamines cross-linking agent used in Fluoroelastomer(FKM) as well as Polyacrylic ( ACM)
elastomers .V-1 is fast curing type and provides good physical properties such as high tensile strength improve
compression set and Ageing properties. V-3 has better processing safety compared to V-1 adds has some
plasticizing effect.
Compounding and Processing
V-1 and V-3 used as an acid acceptor system is low activity magnesium oxide. Calcium oxide may be used in
place of magnesium oxide to reduce the shrinkage of compounds of FKM during cure, eliminate air entrapment in
thick sections, and improve compression set resistance.
Compounds of FKM cured with V-1 or V-3 should be mixed on mill that is kept as cool as possible. The FKM
curing agent should be blended thoroughly with the filler before either it or the filler is added to the polymer.

Handling Precautions:
1. V-1 and V-3 may form flammable dust –air mixtures.
2. They may cause irritation of eyes and skin. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Use only in areas Provided with grounded equipment
3. Breathing of dust and contact with eyes, skin, and clothing should be avoided
4. Wash thoroughly after handling. Good ventilation should avoid dust hazards.
5. Avoid breathing vapours during processing.

Shelf Life:
V-1 and V-3 Keep pouch sealed. Store in a cool and dry place (23 C).After 24 months, retest before use
